In my ongoing quest to track down the best PLA 3D printing filament, I decided to try out the Asani PLA 3D Printing Filament. The 1.75mm 1kg spool of filament comes in Black, Blue, Green, Red, White, and Wood. I’m specifically reviewing the Blue. It’s a vibrant, lighter blue color.

As you would expect, the filament comes shrinkwrapped with a desiccant pack inside a cardboard box. The spool itself has filament slots to help with storage, as well as a small viewhole about three quarters of the way down to see when you’re running low.

Since this is standard PLA, there are no special print temperature or heated bed requirements. The former can range from 195 – 210 degrees Celsius, while the latter can range from 0 – 60 degrees Celsius. I’m testing it on a Flux Delta+, which has no heated bed, using its standard highest resolution output settings.

For a change of pace, I decided to test print a silly Poop Emoji from Thingiverse for my youngest daughter. As you can tell from the photos, the end result was excellent, with smooth output of uniform color. It’s clear that Asani has a winner of their hands with this filament.

    Pluses:
    – Accurate dimensions
    – Consistent color
    – Smooth, silky output
    – Reasonable price

    Minuses:
    – Nothing of note

    Summary:
You’ll be happy with the output of this high quality PLA filament.

This PLA Filament is really great! It is my second purchase of filament, so I am not sure how it compares to other filaments, but as far as I can tell, it is really great! The Asani PLA 3D Printing Filament, (1.75mm 1kg) comes in Black, Blue, Green, Red, White, and Wood. I’m specifically reviewing the white filament, though the other colors look pretty cool, and I’d love to try them also. As I expected, the filament comes in a box, and the spool has filament slots to help with storage. I liked the filament had accurate dimensions and a great output, all for a reasonable price, and there wasn’t anything I didn’t like about it. If you look at the picture of the cat I made, you can see it is very fine, though it can be hard to see due to blurriness.

  3. Sophie Li

This PLA filament is great. I got the wooden filament and it works great. I have 2 other PLA’s and this is my first wooden one. I looks great when printed and it gives a good finish. I love how this filament prints and it is very smooth. The filament had accurate dimensions and it worked great with my prints. It’s a reasonable price and I would definitely buy more colors.
